How to Get from Bellingham International Airport to White Orchid

Bellingham International Airport is on Mitchell Way in Bellingham, at 4255 Mitchell Way, Bellingham, WA 98226. The Port of Bellingham says the airport serves commercial, general aviation and corporate air-transportation needs.

For your arrival, follow airport signs to the relevant pickup area rather than assuming all rides use the same curbside location. The airport marks separate terminal-area pickup and drop-off locations for transportation network companies and prearranged taxi or limousine services.

You can leave BLI by rental car, public bus, shuttle, taxi or app-based ride, with marked pickup areas for several services.

The Port of Bellingham identifies car rentals, for-hire vehicles, public bus service, shuttle buses, taxis, Lyft and other transportation network companies among the airport’s ground-transport options. Visit Bellingham names Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Hertz as rental-car companies with airport access, and says Uber and Lyft are available throughout Bellingham.

Pickup arrangements vary by service. The airport staging map marks an on-demand or walk-up taxi pickup area with three spaces and a separate taxi overflow staging area with one to two spaces. Shuttle-bus passengers have a marked pickup location beside the terminal. Prearranged taxis or limousines and app-based rides have their own terminal-area pickup and drop-off locations.

For a quick stop to load or unload, the map also labels a free 30-minute parking lot in front of the terminal. Check your service’s pickup instructions so you head to the correct location.

For plans beyond the airport, the Bellingham Farmers Market guide covers its season, location and visit planning.

For the trip to White Orchid, a car or arranged ride is a direct option: the drive from the airport is about 12 minutes. You can use a rental car, taxi or app-based ride, choosing the marked pickup area for that service.

If you plan to use public transit, Whatcom Transportation Authority Route 3 serves the airport from its Cordata and Downtown stations. Check the route and connections for your arrival before relying on the bus for the full trip.

Regional shuttles serve destinations beyond Bellingham. The Port identifies Quick Coach Shuttle service north to Vancouver, British Columbia, and south to SeaTac Airport, as well as Airporter Shuttle service from Bellingham Airport to points as far south as Seattle.

Visit Bellingham also names Bellair Airporter Shuttle and Quick Shuttle as regional operators; it describes Quick Shuttle service between Vancouver, B.C., Bellingham International Airport and Seattle as daily.

For a walk through Bellingham’s south end, the Fairhaven Historic District guide focuses on the area’s history and walking route.

Confirm current transport availability and pickup instructions before you travel, especially if you are planning around a bus, shuttle or rental-car provider. Ground-transport services and schedules can change.
